When Charles White isn’t sending rockets into space with NASA you may just find him playing EVE Online. Better known online as Max Singularity, the Space pope, he has had tremendous experience with the game, and has worked with the company to improve the development of in-game roleplaying. This is a game is incredibly community-oriented with high levels of player interaction, and the pope himself has some amazing stories to tell to prove it. He will also talk a bit about the “Broadcast for Reps” program, an initiative where suicidal players in need get help from other players.
We all know Star Trek, Star Wars and tons of other sci-fi space adventures. But the universe doesn’t need Vulcans or Jedi to be interesting. Space in real life is endlessly exciting and intriguing, and we are very happy to have a guy on our stage who knows more about it than most. Join Charles White from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for a special presentation on the building of NASA’s new SLS rocket and what is planned in the next few years for manned spaceflight. He’s also going to tell you a few things about the solar system they did not teach you in school.
Hailing from England, Moley works for the Coventry FabLab project teaching people engineering, and for Mandala Studios making costumes and props. Other than that he’s spent years performing at events as a standup comedian. We are very happy to have him back at Banzaicon sharing this variety of skills. He’ll be hosting panels, appearing in the Banzai Show, and more than likely showing up wherever Tab and Christian happen to be to heckle in that way only the british know.
He will be hosting some amazing workshops for us this year, but don’t worry, you’re still allowed to laugh at him!
Moley’s gotten a real bigboy dayjob, and he’s bringing it back to Banzaicon. He’ll show you ways to use various free programs to model in 2d and 3d, and how to prepare files for laser cutting and 3d printing. Everything you need to know to apply these techniques to your creative endeavours.
Moley will be showing you the basic principles of origami and pepakura so you can start making awesome cool stuff with nothing more than paper, a printer, some scissors and glue. Please note that Moley may begin swearing at inanimate objects during this panel.

Are you into Kpop? Have you spent hours glued to your computer or TV screen obsessing over dance steps? Well, here’s your chance to show off your moves in a kpop dance roulette! We’ve made an hour long compilation of some of the most known kpop songs and choreographies in the form of short clips. If you hear a song to which you know the steps, then don’t be afraid to throw yourself onto the dance floor! Each session will last for 1 hour and include a varied mix of songs from girl and boy groups throughout the past decade. This is not a competition so there won’t be any prizes, except of course street cred and maybe some new friendships! And loads of fun! If you like kpop but don’t know any dances yet, don’t be afraid to come and watch, because the more the merrier!
Warm up to saturday’s show-extravaganza by cooling it down with a game of Freeze! This is one of our our traditional Banzai games, where the audience gets to participate in improvising short scenes on stage, until they are interrupted and the scene takes a whole new turn. If you like things that are funny, impulsive and creative, this is your kind of game.
