Hetalians and people of Banzai, have you ever had a question only a nation could answer? Well this is your chance to ask it! Bring your questions and come along to CosGame Production’s Hetalia – Ask a nation panel!
In Italy back in 2006 some sporty nerds came together to form the first LudoSport academy, a place where people could come together to practice the techniques designed for “real” combat with lightsabers. It has developed to a true sport and spread across europe. We are incredibly excited to have it at Banzaicon for (as far as we know) the first time in norway! Come along for a demonstration of the sport , as well as the chance to try it yourself! If you have your own combat saber (not vfx saber) feel free to bring it along. If not, make sure to show up early for the chance to borrow one.
May the force be with you!

By now most cosplayers know of worbla, that magical substance that somehow turns from cookie dough-looking sheets to amazing armours and props once a cosplayer gets their hands on it. But not everyone has had the chance to try it for themselves, and starting a project with a material you have never worked with before can be daunting. That is why we are hosting a worbla workshop! Here you will get to experiment with worbla for yourself, with expert guidance from the amazing Pharamony.
The workshop will be held on Sunday, and there are a limited number of spaces available. If you want to secure yourself a spot, head to the activity stand at any time before the event.
This workshop is held in collaboration with Nerdeportalen, Norways supplier of Worbla and other thermoplastics and cosplay materials, who are very kindly donating the materials for the event.
We have heaps of talented cosplayers coming from Denmark this year. Next in line are Stickweed and Mirazie!
Stickweeds Crafting and Cosplay has gotten a lot of experience since he began cosplaying in 2013, especially when it comes to armour. He’s even started working as an armour designer for Epic Armoury. He’s made it far in competitions, and was the winner of Dreamhack 2015 and the 2nd place winner in this years NCC! Appart from thi he has a weakness for icecream, high flame resistance and is rumoured to be the king of Saturn, though this is unconfirmed. His colleagues call him the worbla princess (banzaicon approves and encourages the use of this nickname)
His main material is steel, and that’s what he’s here to talk about in his panel. He will also be one of the judges in our cosplay contest, along with Mirazie Cosplay
Mirazie is all about the fun and good times when it comes to cosplay. She also happens to be incredibly talented, and enjoys spending hours crafting intricate details. She also has a passion for performance, and has previously represented Denmark in the European Cosplay Gathering and twice at the China Super Cosplay Show.

When Charles White isn’t sending rockets into space with NASA you may just find him playing EVE Online. Better known online as Max Singularity, the Space pope, he has had tremendous experience with the game, and has worked with the company to improve the development of in-game roleplaying. This is a game is incredibly community-oriented with high levels of player interaction, and the pope himself has some amazing stories to tell to prove it. He will also talk a bit about the “Broadcast for Reps” program, an initiative where suicidal players in need get help from other players.
We all know Star Trek, Star Wars and tons of other sci-fi space adventures. But the universe doesn’t need Vulcans or Jedi to be interesting. Space in real life is endlessly exciting and intriguing, and we are very happy to have a guy on our stage who knows more about it than most. Join Charles White from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for a special presentation on the building of NASA’s new SLS rocket and what is planned in the next few years for manned spaceflight. He’s also going to tell you a few things about the solar system they did not teach you in school.
Hailing from England, Moley works for the Coventry FabLab project teaching people engineering, and for Mandala Studios making costumes and props. Other than that he’s spent years performing at events as a standup comedian. We are very happy to have him back at Banzaicon sharing this variety of skills. He’ll be hosting panels, appearing in the Banzai Show, and more than likely showing up wherever Tab and Christian happen to be to heckle in that way only the british know.
He will be hosting some amazing workshops for us this year, but don’t worry, you’re still allowed to laugh at him!
We are very happy to welcome two wonderfully talented Norwegian cosplayers as our guests, namely Santatory and Timeforlemontea. They are both experienced cosplayers with a number of stunning works in their portfolio, especially when it comes to sewing. And, luckily for us they are here to share some of that skill! They will be holding panels on the following topics:
Our favourite brits are back for more adventures at Banzai. They’re here to drink tea and entertain, and they’re all out of tea (apparently we don’t do it right over here.) That still leaves us with lots of great entertainment. In addition to taking the stage in the Banzai-show, they will also host a number of panels and workshops:
Cosplay Skits Around the World with Tab
How to paint space – Workshop with Tab
Mystery Science TARDIS 300 with Christian (featuring Tab)
(Don’t believe their self-depreciating humour. These guys are great!)
