Tickets are available as of the 1st of June at 15:00, just click here or on the Tickets button in the navigation header.

We have three categories of tickets. All prices include taxes.

  • 6 to 12 years: 275 NOK
  • 12 years and over: 530 NOK
  • Family deal: 220 NOK pr. person - Must be at least one adult and one child under 12 years. Children of 5 years or younger go free accompanied by an adult. Maximum two adults.
These prices are for the entire weekend..

Q: How many tickets are there?

A: We sell a maximum of 1500 tickets.

Q: Can I buy a ticket at the door?

A: If there are still free tickets on the day you can buy tickets at the door. We do however recommend buying your ticket online before the event, to be sure to have a spot if we get sold out, and to avoid unnecessary queuing.


It will be possible to purchase accommodations passes for our dormitory in Framhallen, which lies in immediate vicinity of the convention itself. Framhallen has showers and wardrobes which will be made available to those who purchase accommodation passes. To make things easier for all our guests we've compiled a short list of essentials to bring when using our dormitory.

Accommodation pass prices will be announced soon.

What to bring:

  • Something to sleep on. We recommend an air mattress or a camping bed. Keep in mind that air mattresses with manual pumps are very exhausting to inflate.
  • Something to sleep in. We recommend sleeping bags as they are far more practical to transport when travelling. A pillow is also a good idea to avoid stiff necks and headaches.
  • A pyjamas or some other comfortable clothing to sleep in.
  • A towel, soap and shampoo for showering.
  • Deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Q: Food and drink

A: At an event like Banzaicon it’s important to eat and drink to keep one's energy up. With our busy schedule it’s easy to forget, but thankfully our cafe has a tempting selection of food, drinks and snacks to keep you both happy and energized without spending too much money.

Q: Storage and wardrobes

A: We have a crewed coat room/luggage storage area available, however Banzaicon and Rounin Events are not responsible for any lost property.

If you want to cosplay at Banzaicon, but don’t want to travel in your costume, we have wardrobes available with lots of space, privacy and (limited) mirrors. There are men’s, women’s and gender neutral wardrobes. Do NOT use any bathrooms, and especially NOT the handicap toilet to change.

Q: Security

A: Or dedicated guards and medic-crew will be on duty during the whole convention to make sure everyone is safe and secure, and to help out if anything should happen. You can approach them at any time should you have a problem or concern.

Q: Alcohol and drugs

A: Banzaicon is a 100% alcohol and drug free event. Drinking at the con is not allowed, nor is any drug or other illegal substance. You are also not allowed to return to the con if you have been drinking other places as long as you are still under the influence.


Banzaicon encourages all participants to NOT carry anything that can be confused with weapons visible outside the convention. Weapons meaning firearms, bows, blades, polearms and clubs. Please transport them by packing them in bags or sacks. This is to ensure the general public will not be alarmed.

There will be an inspection at the entrances. Banzaicon prohibits certain props:

The following are not allowed at Banzaicon. Weapons/props that are:

  • Blades, polearms and clubs made of metal or wood
  • Functional bows and crossbows
  • Real, replica and realistic-looking firearms (including paintball, airsoft and air gun)
  • All kinds of ammunition (cartridges, bullets, nerf-darts, arrows with metal head)
  • Black powder, fireworks, gas and explosives
  • Airborne objects (drones)

Props matching the above description or what Banzai Watch otherwise deems a hazard must be stored at the reception. Props will be returned when you leave the convention. Temporary exceptions might be granted to those using the prop during the cosplay contests or photoshoots. Contact Banzai Watch for more information regarding this.

Skateboards, roller-skates and other similar items can be carried as handheld props, but not used for their intended purpose inside the convention.

All props must always be handled with care. Failure to submit props for inspection at the entrances or failure to comply with these rules may result in expulsion from the convention.

Art stands

Q: How much is an art stand ticket?

A: Art stand ticket prices will be released soon.

Q: When are art stand tickets release

A: Art stand tickets are typically released two weeks after the regular ticket sale begins. In 2019 this means on the 14th of June at 15:00.

Q: What is included?

A: The art stand ticket includes entrance to the convention for one person for the entire weekend, as well as a space in our art stand dealers area. We supply chairs and one table. If you wish to bring an assistant they must have a an ordinary ticket, however you can bring them (maximum two people) with you in before our regular opening hours in order to help you set up the stand.

Q: How do I get one?

A: Head to our ticket site and purchase an art stand ticket.

Q: When can I set up my stand?

A: We’re at the convention from 08:00 in the morning on both Thursday and Friday, so any time after this should be fine. Make sure you report to the info desk for your wristband.

Q: Will I have access to electricity?

A: Yes, but probably only one outlet.

Q: Will I have access to WI-FI?

A: We’re working on that.

Q: Where is my stand located?

A: A designated crew member will show you to your table(s) when you arrive. You can find them by asking in the info desk.

Q: Will I be able to store my products in a locked area when I’m not at my stand?

A: No, we do not have the resources to offer locked storage areas for stands.

Q: Will someone from the crew be able to watch over my stand while I’m not there?

A: No, we do not have the resources to designate a crew member to this task.

Q: Where can I park?

A: You can park in the parking area in front of the Thor Heyerdahl building. Parking is free from Friday at 17:00 until Monday at 07:00.


Q: I have a business and wish to sponsor Banzaicon. What do I do?

Q: What will it cost my business to sell my products at Banzaicon?

A: We charge 425 NOK per square meter.

Q: Can I pay with merchandise?

A: Partially. This is discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Q: What is included when I rent space in the dealer's area?

A: We can provide tables and chairs, but this should be discussed on a case-by-case basis to avoid any surprises.

New at Banzaicon

Q: What is Banzaicon?

A: Banzaicon is a festival for people with a passion for popular culture, be it film and tv, gaming, anime and manga, comics, anime and manga, fantasy and sci-fi, cosplay, board games, role-playing games or other nerdy hobbies and interests. You will find all kinds of activities here, from fun games and quizzes to interesting panels and workshops to exciting contests and stag shows. Weather you’re a proud full time geek or just letting your inner nerd come out to play for a bit you’ll find something fun to do at Banzaicon along with other awesome people.

Q: Is there an age limit?

A: There is no age-limit at Banzaicon, and although the majrity of our attendees are between 13 and 30 years of age we always have both younger children and more adult visitors having a blast at Banzaicon. We do recommend that children aged 12 or younger bring one of their adults.

Q: Do I have to dress up?

A: A lot of our attendees are dressed up in cosplay, costumes often based on fictional characters. If you want the full Banzaicon experience we very much recommend you try it out yourself, but it is absolutely not mandatory. Many of our visitors attend in regular clothes as well, so no matter what you choose you won’t be the only one.

Q: Can I be part of the Banzaicon crew?

Q: I/my organization/my company wish to contribute content/activities/stage shows at Banzaicon. Is this possible?

A: Both our venue and our schedule fill up rapidly, so we cannot make any guarantees. However as long as we are able we love contributions from partners and collaborators. Individuals or small groups who wish to make content for stage shows should keep an eye on the “activities” section of our webpage where information on our open stage and other stage events will be posted. Larger groups, organizations, companies and contributions not related to stage shows can email us at: organizer@banzaicon.no
